Kelly McKernan,(they/them), is a fine artist and illustrator based in Nashville, TN. They create vibrant paintings in watercolor and acryla gouache of femme figures in intricate and emotive settings that are inspired by art nouveau, surrealism, and dark fantasy. Their work appears in galleries as well as in comics, books, games, and more. In addition to their professional career, Kelly is an adjunct professor of illustration at Nossi College of Art. They are also notable for their leadership in fighting exploitative generative AI, being named in 2023 by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in AI.
